Vision Statement
HVMA strives to create a profession that is sustainable, inclusive, and supportive. We envision a world where veterinary medicine meets the needs of society, allows people and animals to thrive by improving access to veterinary care, and advances the health of domesticated and wild animals. We want all members of our profession to pursue meaningful work as part of a well-rounded and financially secure life.
We will achieve this by being a forum for connection, discussion, and problem-solving, a resource for both the veterinary community and the broader society, and an advocate for the collective good of humans and animals.
Core Values Statement
HVMA believes in community and connection within the profession; compassion; and advancing veterinary medicine through continued skills and professional development. Other important values we seek to promote are integrity and honesty, ethics, the pursuit of evidence-based medicine, animal welfare, support of the human-animal bond, and service.
