More InformationUnder Guam law, claims of alleged malpractice by medical providers, including veterinary medicine, are subject to mandatory arbitration. The parties to such an arbitration proceeding are looking for a veterinarian who would be able to act as one of three arbitrators. Compensation would be at the veterinarian’s regular hourly rate for such services, and any expenses would be reimbursed. The arbitration panel will hear the evidence presented by the parties and then issue its decision on the claims. The hearing on the claims will be held in Guam, but if travel is an issue, it may be possible to participate by videoconferencing.
